About Us--Frequently Asked Questions |
What are your standard dial-up packages? We have a number of dial-up packages, based on the number of hours of usage per month. They are 5 hours, 30 hours, 200 hours, and 500 hours per month, and all four accounts come with unlimited time between midnight and 7 am. The dial-up packages also include 5 megs of personal or small business web space and 1 e-mail account. For pricing, click here.
What are your High Speed packages? We have both residential and business High Speed DSL service. For full information, including pricing and availability, click here.
What are your Web Hosting Packages? IGS K-W offers a complete web hosting service for any company, from a one-person start-up to a multinational corporation with offices all over the world. We support Front Page Server Extensions, support databases such as Access, MYSQL, and others, and offer secure web hosting for e-commerce sites to protect your valued customers. For more information on Web Hosting, click here.
Is my domain name available? More and more businesses, as well as individuals, are using domain names for things like e-mail, in addition to websites, to make themselves look more professional or official. Domain names are portable, meaning that if you ever switch ISP's, your e-mail address does not have to change, making it much easier on your contacts and friends. To find out if your domain name is available, click here. To have IGS register your domain name, click to send us an e-mail ( ) to get the process started now.
Can I register a domain name so that no one else can take it? I am not yet prepared to use the name, but I like the name and do not want to risk losing it. Many people are opting for domain "parking" whereby the name is registered for you, but no additional service is activated, meaning that you cannot use the name, but no one else can take it or use it either.
Where
does IGS stand on spam ? Under NO circumstances
may an IGS service be used or associated with the transmission of
unsolicited bulk e-mail. Such use will be considered gross abuse and will
result in all services being terminated without refund. IGS retains the
right to set the definition of unsolicited bulk e-mail in all cases. In
addition to this, IGS K-W now offers free
Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus filtering on all email accounts.
What are the minimum system requirements to use your Internet package? For regular dial-up accounts almost anything with a modem will work. IGS K-W usually recommends that you be realistic in your expectations of the Internet if you choose to employ an old, recycled computer. Be aware that Windows 3.1 is no longer supported by IGS, and anyone with a 486 or older system may be unhappy with the speed of the Internet due to the overall slowness of their own computer. For people wishing to move up to DSL High Speed Internet service, you must have AT LEAST a Pentium 166 system with Windows 98 and at least 32 MB Ram and 100 MB free hard drive space. We recommend that for high speed you have at least a Pentium II system with Windows 98SE or better, at least 64 MB Ram and at least 100 MB free hard drive space.
Will you set up my computer and give me a brief lesson on the Internet? IGS K-W would be happy to set up your working computer, provide you with a tutorial on the Internet and specifically how to use your e-mail program. There is NO CHARGE for this invaluable lesson, providing your computer is functioning properly to begin with. If we have to make changes to the computer or to your operating system, there MAY be a charge, starting from $40.00 per hour.
