Auto-Responder - Examples

The following two examples are typical cases where you may want to use an Auto-Responder.

Example 1: Away on Business

You are going to be away on business for 2 weeks in a country where Internet access is more than a foreign phrase, it is non-existent for all but the extremely wealthy and well connected, but you do not want everyone sending you e-mail to believe you are just ignoring them when they don't hear back from you. The answer is to configure the Auto-Responder with a message that explains that you are not able to reply, and if it is important they should contact someone else prior to your return. There are just four fields to fill in, all of which you should have no difficulty with. The first is your Full Name, like "Fred Flintstone", the second is your e-mail address, like "fred@bedrock.com", the third is a subject for the message, like "Automatic Reply - I am not Available", and the last area you need to fill in is the body of the message that will be automatically sent.

Example 2: Away on Holiday

You are going to be away on holiday for a week on the beach and don't want your friends to worry, or better yet, you want them to be envious of you. The configuration is done in the very same manner as the first example, you just change the words to match your situation.
