John Aird, former Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario, photographed in 1980 in his Minett-Shields aptly named Black Beauty II. The boat is about 7 metres long (21') and finished black hi-gloss.

Published in 1997 by Boston Mills Press the book Wood & Glory* written by W.M. Gray with photographs by Timothy C. DuVernet is a must for the classic boat lovers book shelf! The 27' Ditchburn Viking shown is but one of many boats pictured in the book.

From the book 'Wood &Glory'* photograph by Timothy C DuVernet we see pictured the Minett-Shields Osprey III. A classic about 18' long and built a little beamier making it quite stable and as one can see from the photograph, capable of moving!!!

This photograph also by Timothy C DuVernet from 'Wood & Glory'* is representative of the 3000+ 'dispro' boats built from 1916 thru to 1958. The Disappearing Propeller Boat Co. endured several bankruptcies with Greavette building the final 400 (est) models from 1937 to 1958.
