These are some personal notes on eating breakfast out in Kitchener Waterloo. They are based on a limited number of visits to a number of local restaurants (usually with my family, including two 11--13 year old kids.
Comments (No Particular Order)
- Kypreos (Lancaster)
- Our overall favourite. The food is reliably good, and a good cup of coffee arrives every time.
- Too bad that you can't get real maple syrup. Service is reliably good.
- Rise and Shine (Bridge near Dansbury)
- Excellent breakfast menu, and service is also somewhat unpredictable, but generally OK.
- Completely random coffee. Examples: a cappucino that is as flat as a pancake, and in a huge mug; another is the right size and has foam, but no discernible coffee taste; brewed coffee has been acceptable, but not great.
- They have real maple syrup for a small added charge.
- Angel's Diner (Highland)
- My son loves this place. For me it's pretty average.
- I find it kind of noisy with uneven (from very good to bizarre) service.
- The Daily Grill (Davenport at Northdale)
- Good menu, reasonable service.
- Good enough to be very crowded Sunday morning.
- Menu mentions "maple syrup" but we get table syrup.
