News from 2002 to 2007

Its been a while since I edited these pages.
Sorry for that.

In 2003 and 2004 I started to develop a few new games and was working on my Large Pacific Map (1941).

In 2004 I started to develop some pain and in March 2005 I found out I got Cancer. Bone Marrow Cancer - Multiple Myeloma.

Needless to say that is a bummer. In 2005 I did chemo and the cancer went away - but this is a type of cancer that can only be pushed aside for a while. So now it is back in summer 2007. Between these two large chemo sessions I did have some time to work on my stuff. I developed two entirely brand new Generals of Waterloo games that have nothing to do with Axis&Allies or other gamemaster series games or RISK. This chemo session seems to be easier. I do get 10 days per month when I am not tired or nauseous. These days I work on my computers and my games and my websites. Hopefully by January I will be off of chemo and cancer free until 2009 or 2010 when I will probably be doing chemo #3.

I recently also did a map for Table Tactics. Jack created some new colours and pieces and I created a map for three people to play.

The other news is that the Canadian dollar has done very well these past 7 years. When I did the pricing for my games I sold everything in US dollars. Back then $50 US would translate to $75 CDN, and $60 US would be $90 CDN ($1 US = $0.66 CDN). Printing large prints and having them laminated (at $1.50 to $2.00 per square foot) meant that my costs were high and I made a little bit of money to go towards the $6000 large 36" color HP printer I bought for these maps back in 2000.

Now the US dollar is almost equal to the Canadian ($1 US = $0.95 CDN). The $50 US and $60 US now gives me only $54 CDN and $66 CDN respectively. I am now getting $21 and $24 dollars less per game sold. So my prices are going up - sorry for that.

I hope to have brand new pages here in the next while - July 15th 2007 now. By September I hope to have new pages on A&A history and strategy and links.

I will have my other sites up and running - www.generalsofwaterloo.com and if my games get going then www.eaglewolfbear.com and www.oilbarons1900.com
